HE COUNTS THE STARS AND
HE KNOWS THEM BY NAME

When I learned there are over 40 million victims of sexual slavery, it took my breath away. As I struggled to picture faces and lives connected to these unfathomable numbers, I envisioned the vastness of a night sky.

I rested in the knowing that just as He does the stars, God knows each of them by name, but I too longed to recognize them as more than a collective statistic. And so, my personal art is dedicated to the victims of this atrocity, and....

I CALL THEM BY NAME

As I begin the work of restoring a piece of pottery or porcelain, I hold it gently in my hands and recall one of the many stories I have heard from the victims. I then give the piece a name.

As I begin the restoration process I envision a woman or child, and I cover them with prayer.

This is my quiet way to walk alongside them - not as a universe but as a singular, brilliant star.

Currently, I sell these beautiful golden threaded vessels through local art galleries or to people who have learned of my work.  I am contemplating a store in the future, but have no firm plans at this point.

All net profits from the sale of my work and my classes are donated to Rescue:Freedom and Scarlet Road.

CURRENT PIECE BEING RESTORED

Not all of us can do great things.

But we can do small things with great love.
